Google Ads

Google Search, Shopping, and Performance Max campaigns that reach high-intent customers ready to buy, and measure every pound of spend down to revenue.

What is it?

What is Google Ads?

Google Ads is where customers actively search for what you sell. When a user types "buy leather handbags" or "best yoga mats", your products have the chance to appear at the moment of purchase intent. That is the opportunity. The execution is where most brands stumble: misconfigured feeds, broken conversion tracking, poor keyword strategy, and bid automation that wastes budget. ScaleWise VA manages Google Ads as a full-service discipline: from Shopify feed optimization to Shopping campaign architecture to Performance Max setup to granular performance tracking. Every campaign we run is tied directly to revenue, and we optimize relentlessly around ROAS.

Why it matters

Why this matters for your store.

Google handles over 8.5 billion searches per day. Your customers are searching for products like yours right now. The brands that win are not the ones with the biggest budgets, they are the ones with the sharpest targeting, the most accurate tracking, and the discipline to only spend on high-ROAS channels. We have seen brands eliminate entire Google Ads accounts that were losing money, and build new campaigns from scratch that deliver 3:1 or 4:1 ROAS. The difference is systematic setup, relentless monitoring, and the willingness to cut losing keywords rather than hope they will improve.

Our Approach

How we do it.

01

Audit & Strategy

We review your current Google Ads account (if any), audit your Shopify product feed, and build a 90-day strategy covering Search, Shopping, and Performance Max campaigns.

02

Technical Setup

Merchant Center account setup, feed submission, GTM implementation, conversion tracking configuration, and Google Ads account structure created to support clean attribution.

03

Campaign Launch

Campaigns go live with initial keyword sets, product groups, and audiences. Campaigns run in learning mode while we monitor performance and gather initial conversion signals.

04

Ongoing Optimization

Weekly bid adjustments, monthly budget reviews, keyword expansion, and audience refinement. Every month we improve ROAS by cutting underperformers and scaling winners.

Questions

Common questions.

Who actually runs the ads, a media buyer or a general VA?
A dedicated Google Ads media buyer, not a generalist VA. The person managing your Search, Shopping, and Performance Max campaigns is a paid-media specialist with current Google Ads certification, separate from the operations team who handle your Shopify backend. This split is deliberate: bid management, feed optimization, and conversion troubleshooting require specific platform expertise. Your operations VA never touches your ad account; your media buyer never touches your Shopify orders. Both report to the same lead so coordination stays clean.
What is the minimum ad budget for Google Ads on Shopify?
We recommend a minimum of USD 2,500 per month in ad spend to give Shopping and Performance Max enough conversion data to learn. Below that, the algorithm cannot optimize and management fees stop making sense.
Should I run Shopping, Search, or Performance Max campaigns?
For most ecom brands, the answer is all three with different roles. Shopping captures purchase-intent product searches. Search captures keyword intent around brand and category. Performance Max captures incremental volume across the Google network. We will recommend the right mix after the audit.
How long until I see results from Google Ads?
Shopping campaigns typically show first conversions in week one and stabilize ROAS by week three or four. Performance Max takes longer (4 to 8 weeks) because the algorithm needs more data. Search campaigns can be profitable from day one if keyword research is sharp.
Do you handle Google Merchant Center setup?
Yes. Merchant Center account creation, feed setup from Shopify (native or via DataFeedWatch), feed approval, and ongoing diagnostics monitoring are all in scope.
What ROAS should I expect?
It depends on category and AOV. Most consumer brands target 3:1 to 5:1 on Shopping and Performance Max combined. Branded search is often 8:1+. We benchmark you against your specific category and set a realistic target on the discovery call.
How is your reporting different from looking at Google Ads directly?
Google Ads reports campaign-attributed revenue, which understates real impact. Our monthly report combines platform-attributed revenue with GA4 cross-channel attribution and Shopify order data, so you see the full picture, including assisted conversions.
