How is Web Development different from Shopify Development?

Shopify Development is everything that lives inside the Shopify theme and admin (Liquid, sections, app blocks). Web Development is everything OUTSIDE Shopify: custom dashboards, headless storefronts, marketing microsites, integration backends, internal tools. We do both, but they are different skill sets.

What frontend frameworks do you build in?

React and Next.js by default for new builds. Vue and Nuxt where the team already uses them. Astro and SvelteKit for content-heavy marketing sites. We can also work in vanilla HTML/CSS/JS for projects where a framework would be overkill.

Can you do headless Shopify with Hydrogen?

Yes. Hydrogen and Oxygen builds are in scope. They are usually justified for very large catalogs, multi-region deployments, or when the brand demands a level of UX customization that Online Store 2.0 cannot deliver. Most stores do not need it; we will tell you straight.

Where will the app be hosted?

Vercel and Netlify for frontends. Render, Railway, Fly, or AWS for backends. Cloudflare Workers/D1/R2 for edge-first builds. We optimize for your existing stack where possible; vendor lock-in is avoided.

Will I own the code?

Yes. The repository is yours from day one. We push to your GitHub or GitLab organization. No proprietary licensing, no white-label restrictions.

Can you take over a half-built project from another developer?

Often yes, depending on code quality. We audit the existing codebase, document what we find, and quote a stabilization phase before continuing feature work. Worst case (unreadable code or fundamental architecture mistakes), we recommend a partial rebuild and explain why.
