Store Redesign

A considered refresh of your existing Shopify store, modernised UX, improved mobile experience, and a visual identity that reflects your brand where it is today, not where it was three years ago.

What is it?

What is Store Redesign?

A Store Redesign is not starting from scratch, it is a strategic refresh of an existing Shopify store that has grown beyond its original design. We audit what is working, preserve your brand equity and SEO performance, and systematically update the elements that are hurting your conversion rate, mobile experience, or brand perception. The result is a store that feels current and intentional without the disruption or cost of a full rebuild. Every redesign project begins with a UX audit so we are improving things that actually matter, not just things that look different.

What's included.

Everything in this service

UX Audit

A structured review of your existing store's UX: navigation logic, product discovery, mobile experience, page hierarchy, conversion bottlenecks, and accessibility issues.

Visual Redesign

Updated typography, color palette application, spacing, imagery treatment, and component design, modernising your store's visual language while maintaining brand recognition.

Mobile-First Rebuild

Mobile UX is redesigned from the ground up: navigation patterns, touch targets, image display, above-the-fold content, and checkout flow optimized for the majority of your traffic.

Brand Alignment

Your redesigned store is aligned with your current brand guidelines, logo usage, color system, font hierarchy, and visual tone, ensuring consistency across all customer touchpoints.

Speed Optimization

As part of every redesign, we audit and improve Core Web Vitals: LCP, CLS, and INP optimized so the new design does not come at a performance cost.

Migration & Handover

Careful migration to the redesigned theme preserving redirects, metafields, and SEO-critical elements. Documentation and training included in the handover package.

Why it matters

Why this matters for your store.

Your store is your most important sales asset, and it dates faster than any other marketing channel. A store that looked premium in 2021 may now look dated compared to competitors who have invested in their digital presence. Beyond aesthetics, Shopify has evolved significantly, Online Store 2.0, new section and block capabilities, improved performance standards, and stores built before 2022 are often missing the architectural features that make a store easier to manage and faster to load. A redesign is not vanity, it is maintenance of your most important commercial infrastructure.

Our Approach

How we do it.

01

Audit & Discovery

UX audit of your current store, review of analytics data, competitor visual benchmarking, and a discovery session to understand your brand evolution and redesign priorities.

02

Design Direction

A design direction document presenting the visual approach, typography choices, and component design before any full designs are produced. Aligned before committing to full designs.

03

Full Design & Development

Complete Figma designs produced for key pages, approved by you, then developed in a theme duplicate for your review before any migration.

04

Migration & Launch

Redirect mapping, metafield migration, SEO preservation checks, and a managed go-live with post-launch monitoring for 48 hours.

Questions

Common questions.

How do I know if my store needs a redesign or just small fixes?
Three signals point to a real redesign: your conversion rate has plateaued below category benchmark, your mobile experience scores under 60 on Lighthouse, or your brand has evolved visually since the current theme was installed. If only one or two pages need work, a focused CRO sprint is the better call.
Will the redesign hurt my SEO rankings?
Not if it is done correctly. Every redesign preserves URLs, redirects, meta tags, structured data, and internal linking. We run a pre-launch SEO checklist and monitor Search Console for 30 days post-launch to catch any issues fast.
How long does a Shopify store redesign take?
Typical timeline is 6 to 10 weeks. Audit and design direction takes 2 weeks, full design 2 to 3 weeks, development and migration 2 to 4 weeks, QA and launch 1 week. Larger catalogs or unusual integrations extend the back end.
Can you redesign one page at a time instead of the whole store?
Yes. Many clients start with a homepage and product page redesign before committing to a full refresh. This is also a useful way to A/B test the new direction against the old before scaling.
Do you preserve our existing apps and integrations?
Yes. We audit your installed app stack as part of discovery, keep what is working, recommend replacements where an app is fighting the design, and ensure every integration carries over cleanly to the new theme.
What if I am not happy with the design direction?
Design direction is presented and approved BEFORE we produce full designs. If the direction is not landing, we iterate on the direction document rather than wasting cycles on a full Figma deliverable that misses.
